The Greek national carrier Aegean Airlines will increase the operations to Ex-Yugoslavia next summer. The airline will launch flights from Athens to Ljubljana and Split as well.
Athens - Ljubljana flights will start on 6th June and will run twice per week, every Tuesday and Friday with Airbus A320 jet. Athens - Split services will start on June 7th and will run every Wednesday and Sunday with A320 jet as well with 174 seats. Aegean Airlines will directly compete with Croatia Airlines on the flights to Split, while it will be the only airline to directly connect Ljubljana and Athens, after they lost connection in 2019.
Aegean Airlines will also increase the flights to Belgrade from Athens on five times per week and will operate once per week from both Rhodes and Heraklion to Belgrade during the summer months. The airline will directly compete with Air Serbia on these routes.
The airline will also increase the passenger capacity on the flights to Podgorica as it will deploy its Airbus A320 jet with 174 seats. This route is mostly operated with ATR72 turboprop aircraft with 68 seats. The flights to Dubrovnik will run three times a week and Skopje twice a week as usual.
