Air Serbia continued to record a strong growth of passenger numbers in the second month of 2022. In February, the national airline of the Republic of Serbia carried a total of 80,122 passengers, which is an increase of as much as 78 percent compared to the same period in 2021, when 44,963 passengers had been carried.
The Serbian national airline reported good results in January as well, having carried more than 90 thousand passengers, as much as 71 percent more compared to the same month last year.
“I am glad that we are continuing the trend of passenger growth, even though February is traditionally the weakest month in the aviation industry. The results accomplished show that we have made the right decisions and that our strategy was properly established. We are approaching new opportunities for further expansion - we look forward to the summer season, which begins on 31 March, and the numerous new destinations which await us from as early as April and June,” stated Boshko Rupich, General Manager Commercial and Strategy, Air Serbia.
Despite the strong impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the restrictions on air transport and travelling, Air Serbia carried 1,586,665 passengers last year, which is as much as 83 percent more than in 2020. At the same time, volume of traffic increased 39 percent compared to 2020, with an average load factor of 64%.
