Air Serbia, the national carrier of Serbia has announced that it is going to offer special airfares for the flights between Sarajevo and some popular European cities, such as Venice, Zurich, Salzburg, Nuremberg, Dusseldorf, Amsterdam and Copenhagen.
It comes after Wizz Air announced that is it going to close its base in Sarajevo as of 31st October, leaving the airport without direct connections to Copenhagen, Billund, Dortmund, Cologne, Memmingen, Saarbruechken, Hamburg, Basel and Treviso.
"In the view of the announcements in the media that from 1 November 2022, flights between Sarajevo and a number of European cities will be suspended, Air Serbia has decided to deploy adequate capacities and provide special prices to help all passengers with partly or completely disturbed itineraries to reach to their final destinations with seamless connection via Belgrade." - Air Serbia said.
"Ticket prices for these flights are lower then average for this time of year and, depending on destination, they start from 69 euros for a one way ticket via Belgrade. The offer starts on 6 and ends on 16 October for travel from 1 November." - the airline added.
Air Serbia may increase the capacity or the flights to Sarajevo in near future which will further be noted.
