According to the website of Air Serbia, Air Serbia opened the 2022 summer charter season with flights between Belgrade and Hurghada, and there are almost 30 flights scheduled on this route in April. The Serbian national airline will also commence the first charter flights to Turkey in May, and toward other destinations in June.
In cooperation with domestic travel agencies, Air Serbia is planning to carry out more than 1,000 charter flights to popular destinations in Turkey, Egypt, Greece, Italy and Tunisia during this summer.
Air Serbia charter flights are being operated toward destinations which have been popular among Serbian tourists for many years. The most popular flights are to destinations in Turkey - Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman and Alanya, followed by Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, as well as a large number of Greek islands such as Crete, Rhodes, Samos, Skiathos, Corfu, Kefalonia, Kos and Zakynthos. After a break of almost three years, there are also plans to recommence charter flights to Tunisia and Italian regions of Sicily and Calabria.
“It is our pleasure that, together with our partners, travel agencies, we can start renewing charter service, and we are particularly happy about the expected increase in the number of flights. It is a fact that global events have led to an unprecedented increase in jet fuel prices, and consequently the increase of the price of charter flights, but the good news is that it is possible to find tourist arrangements fit for anyone’s budget. If they plan on time, our passengers are able to select their holiday spot from a large number of destinations to which we operate flights, in accordance with their abilities and wishes. The current demand shows that tourists are already planning vacations in attractive destinations which they can reach easily via direct flights from Belgrade and Niš,” stated Boško Rupić, General Manager, Commercial and Strategy, Air Serbia.
Turkey traditionally holds the top spot on the list of most popular summer destinations, and Egypt stands out as the second choice, as a destination which has seen significant growth year after year. It is now possible to fly to these countries directly from Niš, where a significant increase in the number of charter flights is expected.
During the upcoming holidays, tens of charter flights to Egypt and Turkey have been planned, as well as a large number of tourist groups on regular flights, primarily to destinations in the Mediterranean and the continental parts of Europe.
