Air Serbia welcomes and rewards its 20-millionth passenger!

Air Serbia has carried its 20 millionth passenger since 26 October 2013, when it began operations under its current name. After the boarding of the JU500 flight to New York, the cabin senior called out passenger Simonida Bugarčić via the PA system. What followed was a surprise in the form of a gift, a free flight to any destination in Air Serbia's network, for two persons. The prize was presented to Simonida by the Air Serbia CEO Jiří Marek.

Simonida travels to New York as a tourist. As she says, the prize is a great start, so it definitely looks that this will be a great journey. On that occasion, she said that she does not fly often, but when she does, her choice is Air Serbia.

“We are very happy to have carried our 20-millionth passenger just a month before our ninth birthday. We celebrate this important success in the year in which we had record-setting results during the summer season, in terms of passengers carried, while at the same time, we have positioned ourselves as the leading airline in the region also in terms of the number of flights. The trust of our passengers and the dedication of our employees represent the foundation and strong motivation for further improvement of our operations and offers. We thank Simonida for choosing Air Serbia and believe this prize will be used to create new memories,” said Jiří Marek, CEO of Air Serbia.

During July and August this year, the Serbian national airline, via its hub in Belgrade, as well as the airports in Niš and Kraljevo, carried over 800,000 passengers, exceeding the results from the pre-pandemic year of 2019. Before the summer season, the company expanded its network with 10 new destinations in Europe. Due to increased demand for flights between Belgrade and New York, during the upcoming winter season, the number of flights on this route will be increased from the usual two to three flights a week.
