Banja Luka Airport welcomed 44 637 passengers in July this year, representing a new record of passenger numbers if compared to the same period last year when 27 829 passengers were handled or an increase by 60%. Around 17 000 passengers were handled in July 2019 and something above 1 000 travelers in the same month last year.
During the January - July period, the airport welcomed a total of 171 214 passengers and most of them are handled last month. If compared to the same seven months of 2019, there is an increase by 106% as 83 108 passengers were handled back then.
The busiest route was Memmingen with three weekly rotations during the month operated by Ryanair. Two weekly rotations were operated from Stockholm Arlanda, Brussels Charleroi, Nuremberg, Vienna, Gothenburg and Milan Bergamo by the Irish low cost carrier. Wizz Air also operated twice a week from Stockholm Skavsta, Malmo, Hamburg, Dortmund and Basel to Banja Luka last month. Air Serbia was the only carrier to offer connection to the passengers via Belgrade with two weekly rotations to Banja Luka. Air Montenegro and Air Cairo also operated between Tivat, Hurghada and Banja Luka
