easyJet has terminated six routes to Slovenia, Croatia and Albania last week. It comes after the airline announced big losses caused by the travel restrictions and the pandemic which forced the airline to cut some services which were currently suspended or expected to start.
easyJet will not start the flights on London Luton - Ljubljana route in late March 2022. Instead, the route has been terminated for the second time. London Gatwick - Ljubljana will remain in operation. Wizz Air will now have no direct competition on their new route from Luton to Ljubljana which will start with operations this December.
Among this, easyJet has cuts four routes to Croatia, three of them are to Dubrovnik: London Luton, Milan Malpensa and Toulouse as well as Belfast - split. All of these four were operating during the summer months only.
The airline was forced to cut one route to Tirana as well after it was obvious that the demand for their flights has been decreased since the base of Wizz Air in the Albanian capital. The airline will not fly on the route Milan Malpensa - Tirana as of late March 2022. Daily flights were previously planned on this route. However, Wizz Air will continue to operate twice a day to Malpensa as well as other small Albanian carriers in 2022.
