An Airbus A319 aircraft of Air Serbia had to return back to Tivat Airport on 16th August - last Tuesday, after a laud bang was heard from its engines immediately after take-off on the flight JU201 to Belgrade.
The aircraft registered YU-APK had to shut down the engine before circling above the Adriatic sea for half an hour in order to dump as much fuel as possible and to descend for a landing back at Tivat. The flight lasted 40 minutes.
The aircraft is stuck at Tivat ever since the accident.
“Today’s Air Serbia flight JU201 from Tivat to Belgrade was returned to Tivat due to technical reasons and precautionary measures. The aircraft safely landed at the Tivat airport. Air Serbia regrets the inconvenience and is doing everything in its power to ensure that the flight continues as soon as possible. The safety of passengers was not threatened at any time. The safety of our passengers and our crew members is a top priority for Air Serbia.” - Air Serbia said.
