Ljubljana Airport handled 102 392 passengers in June this year, down by 45,72% if compared to the pre-pandemic levels in June 2019 when 188 649 passengers were welcomed and Adria Airways was still operating. Only 4 991 travelers were handled in the same month two years ago and 27 756 in June last year, representing an increase by 269%.
The number of the aircraft movements in June this year is 2 118, up by 28,5% if compared to the same month in 2021.
Ljubljana Airport welcomed a total of 382 610 passengers during the first six months of this year, most of them in June. There is an increase by over 450% if compared to the January - June period last year when only 69 529 passengers were handled. There is still a decrease by 55,4% if compared to the same six months before the pandemic when 858 163 passengers were welcomed and Adria Airways was still flying.
The busiest route for Ljubljana Airport in June was Frankfurt with 14 weekly flights by Lufthansa and Paris Charles De Gaulle with 14 weekly flights as well by Air France, followed by Turkish Airlines and Air Serbia with 10 weekly flights from Istanbul and Belgrade, then Warsaw, Munich and Zurich with 7 weekly flights by LOT, Lufthansa and Swiss. During the month the airport was connected with Amsterdam and Paris Orly by Transavia, London by British Airways, easyJet and Wizz Air, Brussels by Brussels Airlines and Wizz Air, Nis by Air Serbia, Tivat and Podgorica by Air Montenegro, Tel Aviv by Israir as well as many charter flights were operated to Greece, Turkey, Tunis, Spain and Egypt.
