LOT Polish Airlines has diverted the flights between Warsaw and Skopje to Ohrid from early March until mid May due to a runway reconstruction at Skopje Airport during that period. The carrier still plans to resume this route on 1 March and to operate every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday with Embraer E175 aircraft. However, the aircraft will use Ohrid airport instead of Skopje until 15 May. As of 17 May, LOT will return to Skopje with six weekly rotations and will operate every day except on Sundays with the same aircraft type. Warsaw - Tirana and Podgorica routes are also expected to be resumed in early March.
Previously we announced that the airport of Skopje will be closed for some period until mid May due to a reconstruction of its single runway. The carriers have already started to search for an alternative airport during that period. However, the airport will still be opened for a few hours per day during the reconstruction in order to allow Wizz Air and some other carriers to keep their operations.
