The Prime Minister of Montenegro - Dritan Abazovic, appealed at the beginning of the last session of this week to urgently propose the Board of Directors of the state airline "To Montenegro".
"If the Board is not elected within the next week, we can get into great dubious thuds because of a plane that now has "questionable ownership," the prime minister said, referring to Embraer "Charlie" (registration 40-AOC).
Therefore, the government appointed a new Board of Directors of the state airline "To Montenegro" in the session: Pavle Ljesar (president), Orhan Hodzic, Suad Djelovic, Mirko Škerović and Vukadin Stojanovic.
The plane of Montenegro Airlines with registration 40-AOC is parked at Podgorica airport since its last flight on December 26, 2020. From then until today, he has come to such a state that more than $8 million should be set aside for his resurgence. The cost of bringing it back in the skies is what Air Montenegro couldn't pay for.
The Montenegrin Finance Ministry assured representatives of the Brazilian government that Montenegro is a responsible debtor and that the unquestionable obligations under the purchase of the Embraer aircraft, for which the 2010 warranty was issued, would be fully met.
The Ministry says that their representatives, on behalf of the Montenegrin government, held an open and constructive meeting with representatives of the Brazilian government regarding the payment of the remaining debt for the Embraer 190-200 LR aircraft, registration tags 40-AOC, popularly called Charlie.
After the Montenegrin government's non-compliance with the previous year's commitments, which were defined by the conclusion of June 24th last year, referring to the settlement of obligations in the amount of USD 5.3 million, and which was put out of force on December 16th last year, it renewed its insistence that the remaining amount stipulated by Montenegro be met as soon as possible, the statement said.
