In order to improve its services and offer the best possible user experience, Air Serbia launched a new version of the mobile application for purchasing airline tickets, which is available for download at Google Play Store for Android phones and App Store for users of Apple devices. Existing users do not have to download a new application, and can just update the previous version.
New features of the application will make the process of purchasing airfares and ancillary services significantly simpler. Users will be able to find lower prices more easily, and enjoy a quicker purchase process, while being able to view their shopping cart and share documents. The new app will be easier to use thanks to a histogram which simplifies the search for low prices, the passport scanning option for easier uploading of travel documents, and the fully customized seat map, for a better view when selecting seats.
“The new improvements in the application represent an important developmental step in the digitalization of our operations, having in mind that more than 60% of users access the Air Serbia website via mobile devices. The needs of the passengers and the feedback we get from them have been the focus of this project. One of the results of that is our personalized booking engine that we have developed ourselves, which is not something many airlines can say. We want to encourage our passengers to try out the new application and share with us their impressions about features that seem important to them. Our team will respond as quickly as possible, and the feedback will be of vital importance to us for improving the application further,” stated Srđan Prokić, Head of e-Commerce, Air Serbia.
Based on tests carried out, it was established that the approximate time required for booking tickets, for users who have never used the mobile application before, is less than 6 minutes.
The previous version of the Air Serbia application had more than 50,000 downloads. In July 2020, the first version was launched for Android phones, and as early as September of the same year, the application became available to Apple users as well. Constant improvements of the website and the mobile application of the national airline have led to a significant increase of sales via digital channels, which made up 44 per cent of ticket sales in the first six months of 2021.
