Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport handled 24.765 passengers in July for this first time since October 2019 which represents over three times more passengers then in July 2020. It also represents a decrease by 50,5% if compared to July 2019 when the airport handled 50.772 passengers.
The number of the aircraft movements is 266, the best since September 2019. The number is increased by 180% if compared to July 2020. It is also decreased by 43% if compared to July 2019 when the number of aircraft operations was 466.
Most of the flights were operated by the European low cost carrier Wizz Air which operated on five routes to Ohrid from Vienna, Basel, Memmingen, Dortmund and Malmo. The busiest route of Wizz Air at Ohrid was Vienna and Basel which operated three and four times a week.
Among Wizz Air, Chair Airlines and Edelweiss Air were also operating scheduled flights from Zurich to Ohrid. Chair operated on this route four to five times a week while Edelweiss operated only one weekly service with Airbus A320 aircraft. LOT Polish Airlines also operated to Ohrid from two Polish cities, Warsaw and Katowice. The Polish carrier operated one weekly service on both routes with Boeing B737-800 aircraft.
TUI Fly Netherlands is the last carrier to operate charter and scheduled flights to Ohrid in July from its bases in Eindhoven and Amsterdam. The flights were operating twice and three times a week with Airbus A320 aircraft.
