Ohrid Saint Paul the Apostle Airport welcomed 23 210 passengers in June this year, down by 33,5% if compared to the same period before the pandemic in 2019 when 33 546 travelers were handled. Zero passengers were handled in June 2020 as the airport was closed for commercial traffic due to the travel restrictions and 9 627 passengers were handled in June last year, representing an increase by 131% if compared to the results of the same month this year.
The number of the aircraft movements in June is 261, down by only 1,5% or 4 aircraft movements if compared to June 2019 when the number was 265. This means that the planes to and from Ohrid are not as full as they were back in 2019. Only 126 aircraft movements were handled in June 2021, an increase by 107,5% if compared to the results of the same month this year.
In June alone, Ohrid airport was connected with Basel, Vienna, Memmingen, Friedrichshafen, Dortmund, Malmo and London Luton by Wizz Air, with Zurich by Chair Air and Edelweiss Air, with Katowice by LOT Polish Airlines and with Amsterdam and Eindhoven by TUI Fly Netherlands. So far, the airport has lost its connections with Istanbul, Dusseldorf, Stuttgart, Brussels, Tallinn and Warsaw since 2019.
A total of 86 336 passengers traveled to and from Ohrid during the first six months of 2022, down by 16,5% if compared to the same period in 2019 when 103 714 passengers were welcomed.
