Passenger numbers at Sarajevo International Airport significantly drops after Wizz Air closed its base two months ago. The airport welcomed 68 243 travelers during November, representing an increase of 1,35% if compared to the same month before the pandemic, in November 2019 when 67 358 passengers were handled. There were 866 aircraft operations last month, up by 1% when compared to the same month three years ago.
It comes after Wizz Air decided to end its base at Sarajevo in October, which represents significant drop of passengers numbers. If compared to the results in September when over 140 000 passengers were welcomed and when Wizz Air was operating with two A320s and five to six one-way flights a day, there is a decrease by over 50%.
Sarajevo Airport welcomed 1 310 309 passengers during the January - November period, representing an increase of 14,6% when compared to the same 11 months three years ago.
