Skopje International Airport handled 112.735 passengers during the first month of this year, representing a decrease by 25,9% if compared to January 2019, and a decrease by 31,2% if compared to January 2020 when 163.967 passengers were welcomed.
This also represents an increase by 108% if compared to the same period in 2021, last year, when 54.141 passengers were handled.
The number of the aircraft operations for January 2022 is 1000, down by 26,65% if compared to January 2020 when the number of the aircraft movements was 1.364. This is also down by 22.85% if compared to the first month of 2019 when the number of the aircraft operations was 1.297 as well as up by 52.45% if compared to January 2021 when the number of the aircraft movements was 656.
Most of the flights were operated by Wizz Air to Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and Italy. Followed by Turkish Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Air Serbia, Edelweiss Air, Air Pristina / Chair Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Nordwind Airlines, easyJet and Aegean Airlines.
The busiest route from Skopje was Istanbul with 18 weekly flights to its both airports of Sabiha Gokcen and Istanbul New Airport. This is followed by Zurich and Vienna with 10 weekly rotations during the last month.
