According to the State Statistical Office of the Republic of North Macedonia, Skopje International Airport handled 192.328 passengers last month representing an increase by 236% if compared to the same period in 2020 when the airport handled only 57.160 passengers. It also represents a decrease by only 20,5% if compared to July 2019 when the airport handled 241.567 passengers. This was the busiest month for Skopje Airport since October 2019. The number of the aircraft movements is 1.699 which represents an increase by 92% if compared to July 2020 when the number of aircraft movements at Skopje was 885. It also represents a decrease by only 14,1% if this number is compared to July 2019 when the number of aircraft movements was 1.979.
Skopje International Airport handled 567.360 passengers during these first seven months of 2021 which is down by 56,4% if compared to the same period in 2019.
Skopje Airport is expecting to handle over 200.000 passengers in August. Most of the flights or over 600 were operated by Wizz Air, Turkish Airlines and Austrian Airlines.
Skopje International Airport remains third busiest in Ex-Yugoslavia with only Belgrade and Pristina ahead.
