Skopje International Airport welcomed 198 350 passengers in October, down by 6,75% if compared to the same month in 2019 when 212 746 passengers were welcomed. The airport succeeded to return and to overtake the pre-pandemic levels during the busiest summer months. A total of 1 824 309 passengers are welcomed at the airport during the first 10 months of this year, down by only 9% if compared to the same 10 months in 2019 when 2 006 746 passengers were handled.
The aircraft operations number during October is 1 588, down by only 2,35% if compared to the same month three years ago when the number was 1 627.
Skopje Airport managed to restore the operations on all routes that were in operation before the pandemic except for FlyDubai and Qatar Airways which still haven't returned their flights from Dubai and Doha. FlyDubai has recently scheduled its return to Macedonia which is for 30th October 2023 with two weekly services as before. This year, Skopje Airport got new scheduled connections with Turin in Italy as well as Monastir in Tunis. Norwegian is the first carrier to announce new flights to Skopje for next summer and the same is expected from Croatia Airlines with flights from Split. Wizz Air is preparing for new Skopje expansion as well and has already announced its increase of the number of flights from the base starting from May 2023 as the sixth Airbus A321neo jet will join in Skopje.
