Skopje International Airport handled 72.178 passengers in May, representing the best month n terms of passenger numbers this year. This is aslo representing a decrease by 62,5% if compared to the same month in 2019 when the airport handled 194.449 passengers. 849 passengers were handled in May 2020.
The number of the aircraft movements is 1.074 down by 36% if compared to 2019 when the number of the aircraft movements was 1.696.
Skopje International Airport handled 269.494 passengers during the January - May period this year, representing a decrease by 68% compared to 2019 when the airport handled 842,737 passengers for the same period.
Skopje is currently the third busiest airport in Ex Yugoslavia, with Belgrade in first and Pristina in the second place.
Most flights were offered by Austrian Airlines with 12 weekly rotations from Vienna, then Turkish Airlines with five weekly rotations from Istanbul and WizzAir to Dortmund.
The most passenger capacity was offered to both airports in Istanbul ( Istanbul New Airport & Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen ) by Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines, to Dortmund and Basel operated by WizzAir and to Zurich operated by Chair Airlines.
