Skopje International Airport handled 126 258 passengers during the month of March 2022, reaching 77% of the pre-pandemic levels i.e. a decrease by only 23,1% if compared to March 2019 when the airport handled 164 318 passengers.
There is an increase by 76,3% if compared to March 2020 when 71 617 passengers were handled only as a result of the start of the pandemic and an increase by 157,1% if compared to the same month last year when only 49 110 passengers were welcomed.
The Airport of Skopje saw 1 030 aircraft movements during the month of March, down by 25,65% if compared to the same month in 2019 when the number was 1 386. There is an increase by 28,8% if compared to March 2020 when the number was 800 and an increase by 31,3% if compared to the same period last year when the number of aircraft movements was 785.
Skopje International Airport handled a total of 327 852 passengers during the first three months or January - March period of 2022, representing a recovery of 72% of the pre-pandemic levels i.e. for the same period in 2019 when 454 107 passengers were welcomed. There is a decrease by 14,5% if compared to the same three months in 2020 when the airport welcomed 383 117 passengers. Skopje Airport also saw an increase by 120,9% if compared to the January - March period last year, in 2021 when only 148 420 passengers were welcomed.
Most of the flights to and from Skopje International Airport in March were operated by Wizz Air to Turku, Stockholm Skavsta, Malmo, Gothenburg, Oslo Torp, Copenhagen, Billund, Hamburg, Berlin, Dortmund, Cologne, Frankfurt Hahn, Karlsruhe / Baden - Baden, Nuremberg, Memmingen, Friedrichshafen, Eindhoven, Brussels Charleroi, London Luton, Paris Beauvais, Milan Malpensa, Treviso, Rome Ciampino, Basel and Bratislava. Followed by Turkish Airlines 12 to 14 weekly rotations from Istanbul New Airport, Austrian Airlines with 11 to 13 weekly rotations from Vienna, Pegasus Airlines with seven to eight weekly rotations from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport, Chair Airlines wih five to seven weekly rotations from Zurich. Air Serbia with four to six weekly rotations from Belgrade, Croatia Airlines with four to five from Zagreb, easyJet with three from Geneva and Aegean Airlines and GullivAir with two weekly flights from Athens and Sofia.
