471 789 passengers passed through Sofia Airport in November. The airport's data shows passenger flow failed to reach its 2019 level, although growth was recorded compared to the previous two years. Statistics show that after a peak recovery of -4% in October, November saw a decline of almost 10%.
There was also a drop of more than 10% in international travellers, which totalled just over
444,000 last month. The most significant decrease was in domestic flights, which were down almost 18% compared to November 2019. In the eleventh month of this year, over 15,000 passengers travelled to Varna and Burgas.
The best results were reported for those travelling on international charters, where statistics show an increase of over 15% with over 9,000 passengers passing through.
The aircraft movements in November were 4,192, down nearly 9% compared to the pre-
monsoon 2019 figure of 4,596.
There was also a drop of nearly 16% in mail and freight shipments processed, which totaled 1,791 tons in November 2022.
