Swiss to increase Ljubljana, reduce Belgrade & Sarajevo and suspend Pristina flights over winter!


Swiss International Air Lines will operate on five routes to the Balkan in the upcoming winter-season, including: Ljubljana, Belgrade, Sarajevo, Tirana and Sofia. The carrier will increase the flights to Ljubljana and will decrease the operations to Belgrade and Sarajevo as of 31st October. Geneva - Pristina route will not be in operation this winter.


Zurich - Ljubljana - Zurich route will be increased from seven to nine times per week this winter. Swiss will operate two daily flights to Ljubljana on Mondays and Fridays and one daily flight on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.


On Mondays and Fridays, the morning flight will be operated on behalf of Swiss by Helvetic Airways with Embraer E190 E2 jet with 110 seats, while the evening flight will be operated by Swiss with Airbus A320neo aircraft ( 180 seats ) on Mondays and Airbus A220-100 aircraft ( 125 seats ) on Fridays. On Tuesdays, Swiss will operate on the route with an Airbus A220-300 aircraft of Air Baltic with 145 seats. On Wednesdays and Saturdays Airbus A220-300 aircraft ( 145 seats ) of Swiss will be deployed and Embraer E190 E2 jet of Helvetic Airways with 110 seats on Thursdays and Sundays.


Zurich - Belgrade - Zurich route will be reduced from 19 to 16 times per week this winter season. The airline will operate two daily flights to the Serbian capital every day except on Fridays and Sundays when three daily flights will be operated. Mixed fleet will be deployed here as well: on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, both daily flights will be operated on behalf of Swiss by Air Baltic with Airbus A220-300 jet with 145 seats, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays one daily flight will be operated by Helvetic Airways with Embraer E190 E2 jet ( 110 seats ) and another daily flight by Air Baltic with Airbus A220-300 jet, on Fridays, the first flight of the day will be operated with an aircraft of Swiss, A220-300 ( 145 seats ) and the second and third flight of the day will be operated by Air Baltic with A220-300 jet with 145 seats and on Sundays the first flight of the day will be operated with E190 jet of Helvetic with 112 seats, the second flight with A220-300 jet of Air Baltic and the third flight on Sundays will be operated with A220-300 jet of Swiss with 145 seats, 30 in business and 115 in economy class.


Zurich - Sarajevo - Zurich flights will be reduced from four to two times per week. They will operate every Thursday and Sunday on behalf of Swiss by Helvetic Airways with Embraer E190 E2 jet with 110 seats capacity.


Zurich - Sofia - Zurich flights will continue to be operated twice a week, every Monday and Saturday on behalf of Swiss by Helvetic Airways with Embraer E190 E2 jet with 110 seats.


Zurich - Tirana - Zurich flights will operate three times per week, every Tuesday and Sunday with Embraer E190 E2 jet of Helvetic Airways with 110 seats and every Friday with Airbus A220-300 aircraft of Swiss with 145 seats, 30 in business and 115 in economy class.


Swiss International Air Lines will not operate on the route Geneva - Pristina, even though they did last winter. The last flight will be operated on 29th October, Saturday. This route is expected to be resumed in late March next year when the summer-season starts.
