TAV Macedonia handled 145,234 passengers during the month of September, representing a decrease by 46% if compared to the same period in 2019 when Skopje and Ohrid Airport handled 270,621 passengers. It also represents an increase by 144% if compared to September 2020 when both Macedonian airports welcomed only 59,403 passengers.
Over 135,000 passengers were handled at Skopje International while around or less then 10,000 passengers were handled at Ohrid Saint Paul The Apostle Airport.
The number of the aircraft movements for both airports is 1,731, down by 20% if compared to September 2019 when the numbers were 2,151. It also represents an increase by 100% if we compare to the same period in 2020 when the number of aircraft movements was 867.
Skopje and Ohrid Airport handled 994,237 passengers during the January - September period which is a decrease by 52% if compared to the same period in 2019 when the airports handled 2,052,829 passengers. Again, it also represents an increase by 57% if compared to 2020 when the airports welcomed 632,581 passengers.
Most of the flights at Skopje Airport were operated by Wizz Air to 28 destinations across Europe. The busiest carrier was Austrian Airlines with 14 weekly flights from Vienna, followed by Pegasus Airlines with 8 weekly flights to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport and Turkish Airlines with 7 weekly flights to Istanbul Main Airport. Most popular city for Skopje Airport in September was Istanbul with 15 weekly flights. Wizz Air operated most flights to Basel, Dortmund and Memmingen.
At Ohrid Airport, most of the flights were also operated by Wizz Air while the remaining were operated by Chair Airlines to Zurich.
