TAV Macedonia handled 237,376 passengers through its doors at Skopje International and Ohrid St, Paul the Apostle Airport during the month of August, representing an increase by 210% if compared to the same period in 2020 when the passenger number was 76,459. It also represents a decrease by only 27% if compared to 2019 when TAV Macedonia handled 322,872 passengers.
Skopje and Ohrid airports handled 849,003 passengers during the January - August period, representing an increase by 48% if compared to that period in 2020 when the number was 573,178. It also represents a decrease by 52% if compared to the January - August period in 2019 when the number was 1,782,208.
The number of the aircraft movements for both airports in August was 1,983, showing an increase by 96% if compared to last year when the number was 1,014 and decrease by 21% if compared with August 2019 when the number was 2,507.
Most of the flights at Skopje Airport were operated by Wizz Air to Basel, Dortmund and Memmingen, while the busiest route for the capital of the country in August was Antalya with over 16 weekly flights operated by Turkish Airlines and Sun Express only.
Wizz Air also operated 80% of the flights are Ohrid Airport from Malmo, Basel. Vienna, Memmingen and Dortmund while TUI fly and LOT Polish Airlines operated flights from Eindhoven, Amsterdam, Warsaw and Katowice together with Edelweiss Air and Chair Airlines from Zurich.
