Tirana Airport has welcomed 390 748 passengers in November, representing an increase of 70% if compared to the same month of last year when around 230 000 travelers were welcomed. There were 2 826 aircraft movements, up by 33,1% when compared to November of 2021 when the number was 2 124.
During the January - November period, Tirana Airport managed to handle as many as 4 830 165 passengers, which represents a new record of passenger numbers for the airport and an increase of 81,8% if compared to the same 11 months last year when the number was 2 656 935.
It comes after Wizz Air opened its base at TIA, launched 50 routes and deployed nine jets. The covid-19 restrictions for Albania were also lifted which enabled the airport to return and to overtake the pre-pandemic levels. Tirana Airport saw its busiest summer this year with as many as 100 flights per day during the summer months.
