The low cost carrier Wizz Air has further delayed the start of the Abu Dhabi - Sofia route. The flights were scheduled to start earlier this summer, then they were delayed for November 1 before being further delayed until next year. They are now expected to start on 27 March 2022 and to operate twice a week, every Thursday and Sunday. The airline will continue to operate regular two weekly flights to Dubai till then, every Wednesday and Sunday until October 27 and every Tuesday and Saturday until 26 March 2022 with Airbus A321 aircraft. The airline will operate with Airbus A321neo aircraft to Abu Dhabi next year from Sofia base. The aircraft will depart from Sofia at 13:25 and will arrive back in Bulgaria after mid-night. Among Sofia, Wizz Air will operate from Abu Dhabi to Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Belgrade, Tirana and Sarajevo. Abu Dhabi - Cluj-Napoca flights will start again as of October 7 and will operate once a week, every Thursday until mid December where they will get increased on two weekly rotations, every Tuesday and Saturday with Airbus A321neo aircraft.
