Wizz Air plans Pristina base!


The low cost carrier Wizz Air plans to establish a base in Pristina following the talks with the government officials - the president of the company Robert Carey said according to the Aviation portal "Ex - Yu Aviation". “We will handle over 600.000 Kosovo passengers next year, which will make us the largest airline here. We will maintain services to the likes of Switzerland, Germany and Austria. It is very important for us that travelers from Kosovo, but also those from nearby markets, fly with Wizz Air when they need to”, Mr. Carey said. He added, “Part of our job is to add as many new destinations as possible. We hope to build a base here in the future”.


The President of Wizz Air also met with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Minister for Finance and Economy, Minister for Infrastructure, the head of the Civil Aviation Authority, as well as the Chief Operating Officer of Pristina Airport. "We discussed the economic impact and benefits that we will bring as an airline, but also ways in which we can grow in the Kosovo market in the future. We came here to meet with those directly responsible for the aviation industry in Kosovo and to show the commitment and excitement we have for this market", Mr. Carey said according to "Ex - Yu Aviation".


Wizz Air is operating to Pristina since 2017 and it is one of the busiest carriers in Kosovo today. The airline is operating non-stop scheduled flights from London Luton. Memmingen, Dortmund, Karlsruhe / Baden - Baden, Vienna, Basel, Milan Malpensa and Rome Fiumicino to Pristina currently.
