Wizz Air to deploy its 9th aircraft at Tirana and to open three new routes!


Wizz Air has announced three new routes from its base in Tirana, Albania to Lyon in France, Nuremberg in Germany and Warsaw in Poland today. In 2022 the carrier has announced five routes from Tirana so far, with Rimini and Friedrichshafen to be launched in the next two weeks.


Further more, 9th Airbus aircraft will be deployed at Tirana base, an Airbus A321 with capacity of 230 seats. This aircraft will enable the increase of the flights to Cologne and Eindhoven from twice to three times a week, to Bologna and Rome Fiumicino from nine to ten times a week, to Milan Bergamo from 11 to 14 times a week and to Turin and Barcelona from four to five times a week as of July. However, the airline will reduce the flights to Malmo and Liverpool from three to two times a week and to London Luton from 19 to 16 times a week in July.

Wizz Air started operations in Albania in April 2017 and has carried over 2.2 million passengers during almost 5 years of successful operations. With today’s announcement by this summer the airline will have a fleet of nine modern, state of the art young aircraft at its Tirana base. Wizz Air remains highly committed to Tirana, to the Albanian market and to offering great services paired with low fares it its distinguished passengers. Together with 3 new services, Wizz Air now offers 41 routes to 14 countries from Tirana.
