Wizz Air announces two new routes from Italy to Ex Yugoslavia today. The low cost carrier will launch flights from the main airport of Rome Fiumicino to Podgorica and Belgrade in the summer season 2022. The flights on both routes will operate three times a week starting 2 June 2022, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
It comes after the airline opened its new base in Rome earlier this year. Rome Fiumicino - Belgrade will be the first route of Wizz Air between Italy and Serbia while Rome - Podgorica will be second Italian route with Milan Malpensa - Podgorica in the first place.
With these two new routes, all bases in the Balkan of Wizz Air will be connected with Italy. The airline flies on five routes to Italy from Skopje: Rome Fiumicino, Venice Treviso, Milan Malpensa and Bologna and Turin which will start this December and March. The airline will also launch flights from Sarajevo and Tuzla to Milan Malpensa and Venice Treviso this December and March. Among these, Tirana is the only base which is connected to all Italian destinations of Wizz Air. The airline also flies between Pristina and Rome and Milan as well as between Ohrid and Milan Malpensa. Summer seasonal flights from Italy are also available to split and Dubrovnik. Bulgaria also has good connectivity with Italy with five routes from Sofia and one from Varna base.
