Wizz Air has wet-leased a Boeing B737-800 aircraft from the Ukrainian carrier SkyUp Airlines for the operations from Sofia base earlier this month. It comes after the carrier is facing lack of crew and fleet like many other carriers currently in Europe. The jet registered UR-SQO started its operations for Wizz Air at Sofia base on July 1st, after it was parked at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport since February.
Wizz Air uses this aircraft mostly for the flights from Sofia to Rome, Copenhagen, Charleroi, Bologna, Valencia, Geneva and Larnaca. Another three Airbus A321 aircrafts and two Airbus A320 aircrafts of Wizz Air are deployed at Sofia base this summer season.
