The best low cost carrier in Eastern Europe - Wizz Air, will increase its presence at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport OTP following the decision of Blue Air to cancel all flights from Romania this week, as the airline is close to bankruptcy.
Wizz Air will launch three new routes, deploy five new aircraft and increase the flights to over 15 destinations from its Bucharest base.
Bucharest - Larnaca service will start on December 2nd and will run four times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with the 180 seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
Bucharest - Prague flights will also be launched on December 2nd and will run twice a week, every Monday and Friday with Airbus A320 aircraft.
Bucharest - Athens service will start on 2nd December as well and will operate four times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with Airbus A320 aircraft.

The budget carrier will increase the flights on the following routes starting October 1st:

Lyon: from two to three times a week ( 1_3_5__ );
Paris Beauvais: from six to nine times a week ( 1234567 & 1___5__ );
Dortmund: from 10 to 12 times a week ( 1234567 & 12_456_ );
Tel Aviv: from 10 to 14 times a week ( 1234567 & 1234567 )
Bologna: from six to seven times a week ( 1234567 )
Milan Bergamo: from 10 to 17 times a week ( 1234567 & 1234567 & _2_4_6_ );
Naples: from three to four times a week ( _2_4_67 );
Rome Fiumicino: from nine to 14 times a week ( 1234567 & 1234567 );
Eindhoven: from five to 11 times a week ( 1234567 & 1_345__ );

The airline which is currently operating with 12 aircrafts from Bucharest base will add three more on 1st October, increasing the fleet on 15 in total. These includes three Airbus A320s, four Airbus A321s and eight Airbus A321neos, each with 180, 230 and 239 seats.
As the airline launches new routes to Ancona, Jeddah, Riyadh, Cardiff, Athens, Larnaca and Prague later in the winter-season, additional two aircrafts will join the fleet of Bucharest base, increasing it to 17 in total. Flights to Rimini and Aarhus will be launched later this month.
Wizz Air will suspend two routes from Bucharest as well - Vienna and Edinburgh. The flights on these routes will stop on 6th and 8th of January each and will be resumed in late March when the next summer-season starts.
