Тhe fastest growing airline in Europe - WizzAir, has reconnected its biggest base in Ex Yugoslavia in Skopje with Italy and Spain by re-establishing the flights to Treviso and Barcelona yesterday. Both routes were suspended for one year becouse of the travel restrictions caused by the pandemic.
The flights to Treviso were resumed shortly after the Airport in Skopje was re-opened back on July 3 last year. They were operating for very short period due to the travel ban from Italy which was introduced in mid July last year. The airline operated to the main airport in Venice, Venice Marco Polo Airport since the start of the pandemic until the end of June. The flights are resumed as of July 4 and they will operate once a week this month, every Sunday with the Airbus A321neo. They will get incresed in August and will run as usual, every Thursday and Sunday with the same aircraft type. The mentioned airline has decided to operate on this route during the evening this summer season, which means that the flight will depart from Skopje around 06:55PM and will arrive back to its base at 10:55PM.
Skopje - Milan Malpensa will be resumed on July 20 and will operate twice a week while Skopje - Rome Champino will be resumed on July 24 and will operate every Tuesday and Saturday in August, and every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday as of September.
Currently, Italy allowes only EU citizens to enter in the country except for tourist reasons. Travelers are obligated to show negative PCR test not older then 72 hours before departure as well as to stay 10 days in quarantine after entering the country. Among Treviso, WizzAir resumed the flights to Barcelona yesterday. The flights will operate every Sunday and every Thursday ( Thursday as of mid July ) during the summer season. They are going to be operated during the early morning with Airbus A320 and Airbus A321neo aircraft.
